  • Increased confidence
  • We explain what you can expect during your treatment

Correct Alignment Issues

If you have a misaligned bite, odds are your jaw muscles have been overworked and strained for years to compensate for the imbalance. Adult orthodontics can bring your upper and lower jaws into proper alignment to not only correct your alignment issues but also provide relief to your jaw muscles and alleviate symptoms that may be associated with tight jaw muscles.

Improve Your Professional & Social Life

Many people believe that having a straighter smile makes you more attractive to others. They also say that it can make you appear younger, wealthier and more professional. Adult orthodontics can help you feel more confident in the workplace as well as in public and social settings.

Save Money

While orthodontic treatments can seem expensive, they become more affordable and beneficial when you consider the alternative. Crooked or misaligned teeth increase your chances of developing cavities, gum disease, cracked or chipped teeth, and even tooth extraction. The cost of treatments to care for these and other issues could end up being more than your orthodontic treatment. In the end, adult orthodontics can save you money in the long run.

Quick, easy and professional

Quick, easy, and professional. This was my first time at this office, but everyone treated me like I’d been there before. From the time I started filling out the paperwork to the moment I walked out with a filled tooth was 68 minutes. And that included the pet where they x-rayed me and determined I needed a filling.
Awesome.

About Adult Orthodontics

While receiving orthodontic treatment at an older age can present different concerns, we can help resolve them to give you a better smile.

Age-Related Concerns

Older patients present different concerns that our younger ones. For one, older patients are done growing, which can make it more difficult to correct malocclusions and tooth alignment. Generally, this leads to a longer treatment time. For some patients, dental health issues, such as insufficient bone density or gum disease, can present other problems before or during their treatment. Our orthodontist will evaluate your condition prior to beginning any treatment to know which age-related concerns need to be taken into account.

Pre-Treatment Consultation

Before beginning any orthodontic treatment, it is essential that you have a consultation with our orthodontist. During this consultation, we will examine your current condition for signs of oral health issues that may interfere with your orthodontic treatment. This examination will also help us know what type of orthodontic treatments you may need. After your consultation, we can provide an estimate of how long your treatment will last and how much it may cost.

Types of Adult Orthodontic Treatments

We offer several types of orthodontic treatments for our adult patients.

Braces

Braces use a system of brackets, wires and elastics to help straighten your teeth and correct your jaw alignment. The brackets attach to the front surface of your teeth, and the wire will wrap through them to link all of the brackets together. During your treatment, you will need to visit our practice for a series of adjustments that will tighten your braces and gently move your teeth into their proper positions.

Invisalign®

Invisalign® is an innovative and popular way for adults to correct their smile. This system uses customized aligners that are made with durable, clear plastic. Our orthodontist will provide you with a series of aligners that will gently move your teeth to where they need to be. Because the aligners are clear, your appliance will be nearly invisible to others, helping you maintain a professional appearance during your treatment.
